As a member of the professional skin therapist community, I take great pride in embracing and upholding the Health, Hygiene, and Safety Standards set forth for the NZ Aesthetic profession, along with the essential Code of Ethics that governs our profession. Adhering to these standards and leading by example is not only a requirement but a commitment that I gladly uphold.
“Since the day I entered this profession, I have believed that skin therapy goes far beyond beauty; it is a scientific, therapeutic, and preventive field that can transform people’s quality of life. As a skin therapist, scientist, inventor, and researcher, I see the skin as the mirror of both body and soul. Many deep-rooted physical and emotional issues ultimately manifest on the skin, and my goal is holistic, root-cause treatment — not simply covering symptoms. Drawing on my expertise in clinical science, biology, anatomy, and holistic practice, I strive to identify underlying causes and find evidence-based solutions. My vision is for our profession to be officially recognized, as I bring a stronger understanding of what it is to be a skin therapist in our allied health environment. To help establish standardized, evidence-based education, and for our colleagues to play a pivotal role in advancing public health.”

I am also excited to be working alongside an organisation that realises the importance of registration, who support standards, shares values and contributes to the future growth and recognition of our profession.
July 2025 Dr Tork won first place for Best Innovative Ingredient at the 45th Annual Conference of the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NZSCC).
Pariya’s invention—a bioactive anti-inflammatory complex combining curcumin and berberine in a liquid plaster format designed for oncology-affected, Eczema, Rosacea and sensitized skin—was recognised as the top innovation.
August 2025 Pariya’s invention entitled Nature’s Armour was awarded the Gold Medal at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) USA.
This recognition on the world stage is more than a personal achievement; it is a clear testament to the fact that a skin therapist can excel at the highest levels of global innovation.

Mary Hiddleston
PMU, Restorative/Medical Scar Revision Technician
My intention in applying to the Board is to elevate the standard of care within our industry. We have all been a client at some point. We know the vulnerability that comes with trusting someone with our skin, and we must honour that with safe, informed, and ethical practice. Being a part of the Board is my commitment to every client I meet—that I operate with integrity, care, and accountability. I want to help ensure that protocols, hygiene standards, and client education continues to reflect excellence and safety.

My early career began in Hotel Operations in both New Zealand and Australia (Hayman Island), where I developed exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. These roles honed my ability to communicate effectively, remain calm under pressure, and lead with empathy. I was proud to be a finalist for Receptionist of the Year in New Zealand. After migrating from hospitality to travel with Flight Centre, I found my true calling in Training and Development.
Over the past 11 years, I progressed from Trainer to Senior Trainer, Head of Training, and ultimately to Campus Manager. In this leadership role, I managed staff and students, ensuring quality education delivery, strong team collaboration, and the holistic well-being of learners and ensuring they had an engaged learning environment and excellent outcomes to be industry employed.
I then continued to become the Manager and Treatment Coordinator for a clinic chain in NZ, where I worked closely with the nurse owner, therapists, and clients to recommend appropriate and effective treatment plans. I believe my success in this role came from my genuine honesty, attentive listening, and thorough understanding of the treatments—built from collaboration, not assumption and taking the initiative to learn as much as I could.
I am honoured to contribute to the Board’s work and support the continued growth, professionalism, and public trust that this role brings.

In my role I contribute a blend of business leadership, educational expertise, customer service excellence, and, most importantly, human empathy.
