The NZ Board of Professional Skin Therapists is a newly formed organisation pushing for regulation changes and improvements to the beauty industry. The desired outcome of these new initiatives will benefit Beauty Therapy and Aesthetic practitioners and their customers.
We see a need for professional recognition of beauty and aesthetic practitioners at a national and local level and will achieve this by:
# Advocating for regulation change with Government and local authorities # Setting new standards for industry to follow # Advocating for regulations by working with Ministry of Education # Providing post professional development training # Instigating an impartial and thorough complaints process for therapists and the public # Providing a day to day network of support for our members, offering advice recommendations and guidance # Access to our Smart Business practical guide.
Our Board consists of dedicated medical personnel, top therapists and educators in their fields of expertise who have come together to empower our members to be the best they can.
We are on the edge of changing how the industry works and how it is perceived by the public.

Membership structure and fees:
# Members need to be formally qualified
# The board will assess applications
# Membership is obtained with the board’s approval.
There are three types of memberships:
# Full member at $175.00 incl gst
A therapist who is practicing and has NZQA recognised national and/or
international qualifications in the various sectors of our beauty industry.
# Associate member at $175.00 incl gst
An associate member is a member who is not a practicing therapist but works in related sectors of the beauty industry.
Distributors, training institutions, marketing, health and medical etc
# Clinic membership at $175.00 incl gst
Owner and $50.00 per employee.
NB ~ Employees must individually meet entry criteria
